Her love for history is what moved rising sophomore Maddy Leonard to become involved in politics.

“History repeats itself and you need the current political events to prove that,” Leonard said.

Being raised by two history teachers gave Leonard a passion towards history and with that comes politics. Leonard says this has made her very opinionated. While she believes Clinton is not the most reliable, Leonard asks “Why would we elect a man whose catchphrase is ‘you’re fired.’”

Lenard says she came to The Presidency and The Press looking for a new experience and to better understand how journalism works with politics.

“I want to be more accepting and open to others’ political views and opinions,” Leonard said is her goal while at The Presidency and The Press conference.
